Commander Kelly James

Oak Bay Power and Sail Squadron was established on April 10, 1975. Our primary goal is the promotion of ‘safe boating awareness and good fellowship’ among those who enjoy our beautiful B.C. coast. We presently have 185 members in our squadron. Our training department educates approximately 80 students in the CPS Basic Boating course each year. In addition we teach and administer the exam leading to the Canadian Coast Guard Pleasure Craft Operators Certificate. Since 1975, Oak Bay Power and Sail Squadron is the place where boat lovers of all kinds come to learn and enjoy boating. During the fall and winter months, we offer a range of classes from the basic boating to celestial navigation. We offer club cruises around the scenic waters of the Gulf Islands and further north to Alaska.
